Mentoring from Lindsay Galvin

Lindsay has been a mentor with the Write Mentor program, and privately, since 2018.

Her mentoring style is honest, supportive and approachable, with the aim to identify the writer's own writing goals, find clear points for improvement, and to plan ways forward, encouraging a dialogue; there is never only one solution.

Lindsay will also note what she’s enjoyed in your writing and why, what’s working well, and the mentees strengths to build on. She has now mentored over 30 authors – some for more than three years – many of whom have gone on to find representation, publishing deals, or met their own writing aspirations.

Emily Kenny, author of The Extraordinary Adventures of Alice Tonk

“My experience was, and continues to be, amazing! Working with Lindsay on a regular basis has moved my writing on so much, both in terms of completing my manuscripts and in terms of upskilling me as a writer.

“Lindsay’s feedback has helped me to tighten up my pace and improve my plotting, and to show character and emotion through action rather than an overreliance on summary.

“Having a regular monthly dialogue with someone who takes your writing seriously has been groundbreaking for me. I see myself as a writer now, and have a lot more respect for my own writing because I am investing in it financially, as well as emotionally and in terms of time. ”
